I believe I need to concede defeat to David on this one.  It turns out that the “interesting” chord in “Single Ladies” is actually a bVI, as he previously mentioned whilst intoxicated at a party.  Have a look at the whole analysis – it’s pretty amazingly detailed.

It should be noted that I don’t remember saying that at a party while inebriated (surprise!), but after having listened to it again, I agree with myself on this one.

…because D4 is the reason I know all the songs.

    Vodpod videos no longer available.

I like how epic they made the whole thing. Like, YES WE WILL USE VIOLINS FOR DRAMATIC EFFECT EVEN THOUGH WE ARE TALKING ABOUT APPLE BOTTOM JEANS. Truly, a profound revelation.

Oh, yeah, I’ve seen this before. It’s surprisingly well put together…somehow everything fits in that same key (with the exception of Katy Perry’s “I liked it” bit…) and either that means someone edited the music or, seeing as I don’t think it sounds like there’s any distortion…EVERY SONG IN THE TOP 25 WAS IN THE SAME KEY. I don’t think the latter is unlikely, actually.

Well not necessarily the same key, as long as you stick to common tones. And that’s actually pretty believable, considering most pop stays in the realm of <2 accidentals.

Oh man, that changed my life.

Also, it reminded me that Rhianna…is sort of weird looking. Thoughts?
